Alex B. Kintner, 10-years-old died today at 2 p.m. in what appeared to be a vicious shark attack Village Beach. Kintner’s rubber raft, which he had been floating on floated ashore shortly after with what appeared to be a large bit in it.
Kintner had been floating on his raft off of the crowded beach. The day was beautiful and the water was calm when what seemed to be an unprovoked shark attack took Kintner. Kintner’s body has not been recovered but his damaged raft floated ashore shortly after.
The Police Chief Martin Brody now believes, “it may be possible that the Watson death could also maybe have been linked to possible shark activities in the vicinity of Amity.” Christine W. Watson’s death had occurred last night along South Beach. She was reported missing by Christopher P. Hoggenbottam III, at 6 a.m. and her body was found shortly after.
Marion Kintner, Alex Kintner’s mother, was also at the beach at the time her son disappeared. She has now been hospitalized Amity General Hospital and being treated for shock. Her and Alex Kintner were the only two injured.
Brody and Mayor Robert Farley express their deepest and most sincere condolences to the Kintner family.
A special meeting will be held by the mayor, chief of police and the Amity Board of selection tonight at 6 p.m. in Town Hall. The meeting will include the discussion of Brody’s plan to close the beaches on July 4, as well as Kintner’s family reward for the capture of the perpetators. And finally an offer to Ben Quint, an old fisherman to hunt down the shark thought to be the vile perpetrator of this tragic incident.

Local travesty
Local high school student found mangled on South Beach Monday morning. The cause behind the death is still unknown but Chief of Police Martin Brody says, “we want to assure allresidents and visitors on our fine island that they are in no danger.”
The beaches will remain open for swimming pending the outcome of the investigation of the girl’s death. According to Mayor Larry Vaughan there are no precautionary measures they can take to prevent things like this from happening because the girl took a risk with going out as far as she did.
Christine W. Watson, a 17 year-old varsity swimmer and lifeguard, from Amity High School, was last seen leaving a beach party with another teen, Christopher P Hoggenbottam III, a sophomore at Trinity College and a former resident of the island. It was reported that they were both drinking heavily as well as possibly smoking marijuana, as reported by witnesses at the party.
Hogganbottam notified the police at 6 a.m. the next morning when Watson had not returned. After a short search police found Watson’s mangled-body washed up on the beach.
Upon discovery police said her body had been mauled from unknown origins. Brody said, her body had been taken to the coroner’s office for autopsy. Upon conclusion of the autopsy the medical examiner Robert Nevan stated, “The body was severely mangled and the wounds were consistent with a motor boating accident. “
No charges have been filed but police are continuing an investigation of the incident.

Ny Times 9/26
Today's paper was pretty eye opening with it's cover article. "Flood Victims Who Are Fed Up With Congress" is an article that just makes you stop and say wow. With it's delayed lede it takes you to a place in Pennsylvania where a flood has ruined people's homes. Than it comes to how the government isn't doing anything to help because elections are being held soon.
It is amazing how in the article "Saudi Monarch Grants Women Right To Vote" how there are still places in today's world where women are still so far behind men. We see our country and powerful women everyday. But in countries like these women are only going to be able to vote or run for an election for the first time in the next municipal elections.

Today's paper was informative. In the article "Taliban Using Modern Means To Add To Sway" they discuss one way the Taliban is effecting Afghanistan and how they don't even need the population they once had. However, they are still showing their presence by forcing cellphone signals to shut down every morning pretty much disconnecting people from the rest of the world.
I was also in shock about the article "Court Fight, and Tireless Battle Over an Image". Going through this article I was in shock. It felt like I was reading something out of a movie and I just couldn't believe it.

Today was a major shocker for me. I know that we aren't supposed to focus on the sports section but today was a very important day because the NBA finally came to an agreement so that led to the highlight of my day in the early morning. But with the rest of the paper its just like most other days, there is problems in the middle east and another protester has died in Egypt.

Dear Mr. Smith
I’m Christopher Matagrano and I am a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Sports Studies and a dual minor in English Journalism and Business. I played four years of basketball at the Division I level and still maintained a 3.4 GPA. After graduation I started my business Hoops Elite, a developmental basketball program for young athletes from kindergarten through high school.
We are reaching out to you in hopes for an investment of $100,000 in turn for 30% of the business. With this investment we look to buy a gym with two full length courts and six basketball rims, this way we don’t have to rent a gym anymore.
We have expanded from 85 students to 225 students in the past two years and are expecting to grow more when we have our own gym. We have just released our new web page design this past month and already have 1,000 hits. Our AAU teams have also been very successful these past two years. Our 14U team won the gym rat challenge this past summer.
With your investment and our new facility we look to be able to run our own tri-state annual tournament. As well as begin to coach girls AAU teams. We are also expecting a jump in our attendance from 225 students to 400 once we have more space.

NY Times 10/31
The NY Times was sort of shocking today. I could not believe the Somalian American disappeared three years ago and now just reemerged as a bomber. I was also semi-surprised by Cruel Trick of Weather Sows Havoc. I was extremely surprised that this one snow storm did more damage to everyday life than Tropical Storm Irene.
